WINGS OF EAGLE (WOE) is a registered NON-RELIGIOUS and NON-PROFITABLE social service organization, established on the 12th day of March, 2009 with the main notion of uplifting the society.
WOE has been granted Registration under section 12AA and approval under section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
WOE helps people trapped in the vicious cycle of poverty, living in inhuman conditions and those who are deprived of the most basic means of sustenance. Our aim is to eradicate poverty by helping the underprivileged lead an independent and self-sufficient life. The Eagle has come a long way towards the mission by the relentless services of the trustees of WOE and kind-hearted volunteers.
After a survey, WOE realized that many people are prejudiced against the people living in the slums of the city. Most of these people work as domestic servants, laborers, porter, etc., etc. and the money they earn will just be sufficient for their daily needs. But on a long run, these people fail to take care of their health, their children education / marriage and any other vital requirements of their family. To meet these expenses they go to unscrupulous moneylenders, who fleece them of their money with astonishing rates of interest. Besides repaying these loans, what remaining money they are left with, make them to lead a hand to mouth existence. It is here that WOE helps to make lives easier for them. Through this kind of assistance they will very easily climb up the social ladder, which in turn will improve the economy of our country. Besides, once their life styles improve they will be more than willing to extend a hand to those below them.
In addition to the above, WOE has been conducting regular Annadhanam schemes by providing free meals to the deserved Old Age Homes, Orphanages, beggars and the poor people. WOE has also been giving away dresses, vessels, books and other vital requirements for the poor people, not only in Chennai, but also in Thiruchirappalli, Karur and other few areas in Tamilnadu.
